Rose (formerly Ruzha) is a favorite flower of Ukrainians, it was carefully grown under the windows of homes and embroidered on shirts and towels, because this flower resembles the Sun. Even in the word Ruzha you can find the name of the Sun - Ra. And the ancient Ukrainian name for blood is ruda, so the rose also symbolizes fiery blood.
Rose is the flower of Lada, the goddess of love, and her daughter, Lela, the goddess of spring. The "flower queen" is a symbol of benevolence and fortune, and the red rose is a symbol of maiden beauty and purity.
Rose patterns were created according to the laws of plant ornament, which meant continuous solar movement with eternal renewal. Where roses form a system of geometric patterns, they are not just flowers, but star flowers, representing the human perception of the universe as a harmonious system.
